Christmas Eve Traditions

Christmas Eve Box

The lead up to Christmas is fun no matter what age you are, but if you have small children in your family it makes it even more exciting!

This year I wanted to share the tradition of giving your family a lovely pre-Christmas Day gift. The Christmas Eve box is a perfect way to settle down as a family before the fun and festivities on Christmas Day.

Candy’s Cupcakes has teamed up with another local business (Earth Fire Crafts) who have made a stunning handmade wooden crate as the foundation for the Christmas Eve box. This sturdy crate can be reused within your home for practical or decorative use, or even to store all those decorations and to be used year on year to form your next Christmas Eve box!

What’s Inside the Box?

Christmas Eve plateInside your magical box you will find a letter to your child from Santa himself and a vintage take on the Christmas ‘plate’ – a wooden tree trunk plate with a message for Santa. It’s the perfect way to display Santa’s cookies and milk.  Again this has been designed and made for you by Earth Fire Crafts. The cookies are made by Candy’s Cupcakes and we can guarantee that Santa will only leave crumbs once he has tasted them!

Let’s give Santa and his reindeer’s a break on Christmas Eve. Sprinkle some reindeer food on your lawn and leave a magical door key outside so that he doesn’t have to try and squeeze down the chimney, especially if your home doesn’t have a large chimney or open fire.

As part of your pre-Christmas treats, you can snuggle down with a hot chocolate, read a Christmas story and tuck into a delicious festive cupcake. You will also find a Polar Express inspired golden bell to leave out on your plate to show Santa that you are Believer! And some golden chocolate coins because lets face it, it would be Christmas without some chocolate!

There is still space for you to add your own nick-nacks such as fluffy pyjamas or a film… any other suggestions are welcome. I would love to hear whether you have ever made one and what items you have put in the box? I found a cheeky bottle of bubbly for mum and dad goes down a treat for when the kiddie winks have gone to bed 😃Christmas eve cupcakes
